This handmade fused glass light frame was inspired by a sunset I saw while driving through the desert on my way across country. I was mesmerized by the shadowy silhouettes of cacti scattered along the horizon and vibrant colors filling the sky. Add this piece to your decor and watch the sunset all day long.
To show the true beauty of this fused glass sunset a custom Kayu Batu wood frame and LED lighting design was brilliantly created by Daniel Lucht.
Glass art tile is 4.5″ x 5.5″.
Custom made Kayu Batu frame is 6.5″ x 7.75″ and wired with LED lights powered by 2 AA batteries, hanger and peg stand. AA batteries not included.

To create this fused glass sunset tile I used many colors of frit, tiny pieces of colored glass. The colors chosen for this piece are called “strikers,” which means the color after fusing can be dramatically different than in its raw form. The end result is always a bit of a surprise, similar to the way a real sunset transforms the sky.
Each piece of colored Bullseye glass is carefully placed and layered in such a way that when fused together they melt to a soft textured image.
