April Showers Bring May Flowers

Earlier this year I was away from my glass studio managing six back-to-back FIRST Robotics competitions in different cities each week. While away, I found creative inspiration at every turn but had no way of creating any glass art for nearly two months because of the extensive traveling. Needless to say, I was eager to return to my glass studio in April.

As I got closer to returning home, I received word that I was accepted into a few upcoming artist events. The first of them would be the Unique Market’s Spring Pop-Up Market in Portland Oregon, and realized in that moment that I would have only four weeks to build my art inventory and prepare for the show. It was time to use every available minute to sketch out my design ideas so I could get back into the studio and create new fused glass art at full speed.

What resulted from my dormant creativity was incredible. Working through idea after idea, creating tests tiles, and laying out the colorful glass pieces to bring my ideas and inspirations to life was exciting and satisfying. During the four weeks of round-the-clock glass work, I created 20 new glass art designs and 45 new fine art pieces, six new products, refreshed dozens of new pieces of jewelry (with a little help from Deb Lucht – Thank you!), and designed my art booth displays in time for my first-ever show on Mother’s Day weekend. It was amazing to be back in the studio again!

Much of this was made possible because of the love, support, and hands-on help I had from my husband. He is the creator of all the wooden frames and stands, but also built several of my booth displays, helped me label and pack everything, set it all up, tore it down, and he even worked in the booth with me. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished in the past couple of months and I’m excited to finally be able to share all the beautiful artwork that blossomed this Spring in the Lucky Starz Studio.

Every day till the end of May, I’ll be releasing my new designs and products.

Here’s a sample of what’s new!

My lifelong artistic journey has been intertwined with my profound love for the natural world and brave entrepreneurial spirt. My artistic creations in both fused glass and sketch art offer viewers a vivid and textured glimpse into the beauty of landscapes, gardens, and the animal kingdom. I'm the proud owner and artist at Lucky Starz Studio where I fuse glass and make my artistic visions a reality. I strive to promote other artists in their journey and share the highlights and shadows of being an artist with everyone I meet. My core philosophy is rooted in the belief that art possesses the unique ability to inspire, heal, and deeply connect people. I believe creativity is within us all and is the thread that weaves our experiences to the world around us. When not immersed in the creation of my own art, I can be found hiking the trails of Oregon and the Pacific North West, exploring the natural beauty of the world through my travels, indulging in culinary delights, and visiting artists at exhibitions and craft fairs.
